30 Days of Drunk Elephant

30 Days of Drunk Elephant

So back in May, I challenged myself to only use Drunk Elephant products. Specifically, I only used the ones that came in "The Littles". It is a $90 ($123 value) travel size pack designed to give you a little taste of what the products can do for your skin. Also, since they are all travel sized, they are great to throw in your carry on luggage and not set off the security sensors! After using them for 30 days, I spent the next month testing the products individually to figure out what worked best and what I could replace with other products.

Quick little bit of info about Drunk Elephant: The whole concept is that they only use clean ingredients that serve a specific purpose. They stay away from what they refer to as the "Suspicious 6" (Essential Oils, Drying Alcohols, Silicones, Chemical Screens, Fragrance/Dyes and SLS). The idea is that by avoiding these ingredients, their products are able to be used my multiple skin types to cover a multitude of concerns without causing any reactions or irritations. More info can be found under the "Philosophy" section on their website! (I told you...I would be quick!)

Disclaimer: I have extremely dry and dehydrated skin. It flakes and because I have an extremely bad habit of picking at it (I know, I know, I need to stop) I am prone to break outs. This is how the products personally worked for me, which may be different for you.

So what exactly does it come with?

Beste No 9 Jelly Cleanser.jpg

-30ml Beste™ No. 9 Jelly Cleanser: I used a Clarisonic daily. That being said, when I am done cleansing my face I want it to feel clean. Unfortunately, this product doesn't do it. It doesn't really foam up unless you use quite a bit of it and for me, it is just not worth the money. I always take my makeup off first, but if I didn't, I wouldn't trust this to get it off. My advice, save your $$$ for something else.

-8ml C-Firma™ Day Serum: Vitamin C serums are all the rage right now. You see so many different versions of it and not everyone knows what it is used for. This particular blend is meant to even out skin tone and texture as well as brighten the overall complexion. Honestly, I really do like it and think it is perfect for putting it on first thing in the morning. Is it worth $80 for a full size? I don't know...will I be repurchasing it? Probably not. Will I be trying to find a more affordable Vitamin C serum? Definitely.

-8ml B-Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Serum: On their website, the first thing they say to describe this serum is "a cool glass of water for your thirsty skin." And my skin is thiiiiiirrrssstttyyy. Out of EVERYTHING that I tried, this is my favorite. Even without putting anything else on in the morning, it left my skin looking illuminated and radiant. All those dry bits that look like they are gonna get flaky once I put foundation on? Gone. That dehydrated forehead I have that looks like baby wrinkles? Plumped up and smooth. This I am for sure purchasing in the full size because I think it made the most difference for me.

-8ml T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Night Serum: This is your one size fits all serum. If you want a little bit of everything and you aren't looking for a night serum to target a specific problem, this is for you. Smoother texture? Check. Glowing? Check. Even skin tone? Check. This is my second favorite product from this little kit. I put it on every night and you really only need the tiniest amount. Sure, it costs an arm and a leg, but for beautiful, younger looking skin it's worth it, right?

-8ml Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil: You have probably heard a bit about facial oils and how they can bring moisture and vitamins back into your skin. This one specifically "helps to moisturize, rejuvenate and nourish skin while restoring a youthful glow". Does it do that? Yeah, for sure. Before May, I was regularly using Rosehip oil that I got off Amazon and honestly, I think it did the same things for my skin at a fraction of the price. So should you get this? Sure, if you are looking for something to splurge on. I really liked it and thought it worked well! Personally, I am gonna try using the 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil by The Ordinary because it is only $10.

-15ml Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream: This. This as an everyday moisturizer is soooooo good. I love it. Use it at night, in the morning, whenever and your skin is going to thank you. When you put it on it doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky or tacky. The whipped consistency leaves your skin feeling hydrated, soft and smooth. Ughhh I wish it wasn't $60. I wish I could find a dupe that felt just as good. If anyone finds one, please please pleeeeeease let me know! I use it too much and would end up having to repurchase frequently haha

-15ml Umbra Sheer™ Physical Daily Defense SPF 30: I have tried a few high end sunscreens and honestly, this one doesn't scream "Use Me". On a regular day or a trip to the beach, I think that this would be great! But for work, where I need to wear make up and take photos, it does leave a white cast on my face and causes some flashback in photos.

-5ml Shaba Complex™ Eye Serum: I have never used a specific eye serum but hey, it did everything it said it was going to! From deflating puffiness to smoothing out fine lines, this eye serum left me looking more awake and youthful when I woke up in the morning! I would only use this at night though. When I used it in the morning, my makeup wouldn't go on as well underneath my eyes. Do I recommend it? Sure! But know that I do not have anything to compare it to so there may be a more affordable option out there that works just as well.

-Travel Bag: This bag fits all of the products that it came with AND my jade roller. It was so nice to take on my trip to California in May and if anything leaked, it's a plastic case which makes it super easy to clean. You are able to fold it in half and snap it in that shape which was perfect for me! I put all of my AM products on one side and my PM products on the other so I wouldn't get confused.

Hopefully this gives you a little insight into Drunk Elephant and the products that it offers! Let me know if you have used anything or if you know of any good dupes out there! Happy shopping :)
